Our Vision
While carrying out our regular business, we understand our Social Responsibility towards the upbringing of the society in which we operate. In co-ordination with various NGOs and institutions, we carry various rural lightening and development programs and simultaneously generate employment among the local youths.
Making a difference
While carrying forward with this vision, we have a strong belief in our youths. Serving our society is of utmost important. Our founder, Mr. Jagdish Kolekar believes in generation of self-employment among the youths. They are well talented and enthusiastic, we just need to guide them in the right direction. We help the people out in these areas to understand and learn the assembly of the LED lamps themselves. We provide them with all the required components and knowledge, they just need to assemble them, thereby generating employment.
Our Strategy
India is a country where about 70% of population is in rural areas. Even today there are villages where there is no electricity available at all. We provide them with Lighting system for Huts, Lanterns and Study Lamps. These are the basic lighting structures.
Our Children are future of our country. At this juncture, if they are deprived of education just because of unavailability of light, our country will be in a great trouble. We believe that the Study Lamps will help the students to enlighten their lives and also be the part in the development of our country.
Our focus is on the all-round development of the communities around our plants located mostly in distant rural areas and tribal belts.
Our partners in development are NGOs like Rotary Club, Grand Lodge Club and many more who in turn are jointly working with institutions like Pragati Pratishthan, Jawhar & Wada ; Learning Space Foundation, Vajreshwari ; Chirag Foundation, Mumbai ; Aseem Foundation, Pune and many more.
All projects are planned in a participatory manner, in consultation with the community, literally sitting with them, and gauging their basic needs.
Subsequently, based on a consensus and in discussion with the village appointee, we prioritize requirements. And thus a project is born. Implementation is the responsibility of the community and our team, as is the monitoring of milestones and the other aspects. Monitoring entails physical verification of the progress and the actual output of the project.
Village meetings are held periodically to elicit feedback on the benefits of our community programmes and the areas where these need to be beefed up. We try and ensure that while in the short term we have to do enormous hand-holding, the projects become sustainable by the beneficiaries over the long haul. Once this stage is reached, we withdraw. In this way we do not build a culture of dependence, instead we make the villagers self-reliant.
